This week we have confirmed times and locations for our Fall 2011 Food Smarts Training Program. Thanks to the San Francisco Food Bank for hosting us again on September 27th and 28th for a San Francisco training. Thanks also to BRIDGE Housing Corp. for donating space at Mandela Gateway Apartments in Oakland, CA for an East Bay Training.
We’re starting our outreach for these trainings and hoping for another group of committed and enthusiastic individuals who want to bring culturally competent cooking and nutrition programming to their agency.
Many of the Spring 2011 graduates are already teaching their workshops! Mandy Boatright from the North Beach Citizens Association is working with individuals living in SROs and giving us some great feedback on how our curriculum works with her clients. Workshops are also underway at Chinatown Community Development Corp. and St. Vincent de Paul. Watching our curriculum thrive in the incredibly diverse San Francisco communities is so rewarding.
