San Francisco Human Services, Leah’s Pantry, and the San Francisco Food Bank recently received a large grant to provide nutrition education to CalFresh recipients in San Francisco. This multi-faceted grant, title Fresh Approach, will include our 6-week workshops and Food Smarts Training Program. We are hoping to run 75 workshops in San Francisco over the next 17 months in addition to 4 training programs. The Food Bank will offer 1-day nutrition workshops to partner agencies in addition to food safety training. Also included is a nutrition education website linked to BenefitsCalWin, the website where SF residents can apply for nutrition assistance.
After five years of hard work building a curriculum that delivers results, we could not be happier to have been included in this project!
