It is SUCH a treat to visit partners across California. We had the opportunity to visit Catholic Charities Diocese of Stockton. Ana Guzman, Program Manager for Nutrition Assistance Services, shared about all of the great work they do to serve their community, ranging from counseling to immigration services to various programming for older adults. The focus of our visit was their Nutrition Assistance Services, which included a tour of their pantry. While the pantry had closed a few hours ago, we still got a feel for the distribution. Ana shared how it’s really become a socializing hub for the community. She also share about the healthy food bags they offer, and also about relationships with local gleaners that have resulted in increased produce offerings. Great work!!
