Older Adults Around the Table
Overview
This strengths-based nutrition education curriculum is designed for leading a nutrition workshop series with older adults. Participants learn how to apply basic nutrition concepts and holistic strategies for good health, navigating the food environment, and greater resilience.
Participant Goals:
- Learn how to incorporate nutritious foods and simple meals into their daily lives
- Apply personally-relevant strategies that enhance their health and well-being
- Build and maintain community and social connection to support their health
- Learn simple exercises and identify opportunities for movement that can benefit mobility and stability

Training Description
This unique training will equip participants to facilitate the Around the Table Older Adults curriculum. Participants will:
- Learn how to implement the Around the Table Older Adults curriculum
- Explore the relationship between positive and adverse experiences and nourishment
- Develop compassionate facilitation strategies
- Engage in personal and group reflection
This program includes self-paced content (videos, reflection activities, and readings) and live, instructor-led sessions. Registered participants will gain access to our online training system (TalentLMS) when the course opens in mid-November and will need to complete approximately 1.5 hours of self-paced work prior to the first live session on December 4, 2025. Participants will have access to digital curriculum files and will be sent a Curriculum Bundle.
Educators working with older adults. Please note, if an agency has multiple participants, each participant must register separately to gain access to our online training system.
Self-Paced + Virtual
Total Training Time: Approximately 12 hours total (six hours of live sessions and about six hours of self-paced work)
Materials: One copy of the Instructor Guide and Workbook is included in the training cost. Materials will be sent to participants once they purchase the training.
Next Steps: Upon completion of this program, participants are certified to deliver the Around the Table Older Adults curriculum.
