Food Smarts: Waste Reduction for Kids Facilitator Training

What you’ll learn in this training: 

• How to use the Food Smarts: Waste Reduction for Kids five-week lesson plans
• How to develop trauma-informed engagement and facilitation strategies
• Modifications for working with different age groups, and virtual delivery

Cost: $50, includes instructor curriculum bundle

Audience: For agency staff, volunteers, and community leaders

Materials: Participants receive access to digital copies of the instructor guide and workbook, as well as a printed copy of each.

Pre-requisite: None, but completing the Food Smarts Training Program is recommended.

Training Hours: The online, self-paced course will take approximately two hours to complete and must be completed prior to the 1.5-hour live (virtual) session offered once per quarter.  The next live session will be on February 11, 2026, from 11-12:30 p.m. PT.
