Food Smarts Adapted for Recovery – Facilitator Training

$100.00

Description:  This unique training will equip participants to facilitate the Food Smarts Adapted for Recovery curriculum.  Participants will:

  • Learn how to implement the curriculum
  • Consider best practices for working in recovery settings
  • Explore the relationship between positive and adverse experiences and nourishment
  • Develop compassionate facilitation strategies

Audience:  Staff and volunteers working with adults in substance use treatment or recovery. [If an agency has multiple participants, each participant must register separately so that their registration email address can then be added to our online training system.]

Training Delivery and Dates:  This program includes self-paced content (videos, reflection activities, and readings) and live, instructor-led sessions. Registered participants will gain access to our online training system (TalentLMS) when the course opens in late-February and will need to complete approximately 1.5 of self-paced work prior to the first live session on March 3rd, 2026.  Participants will have access to digital curriculum files and will be sent a Curriculum Bundle.  Key dates are as follows:

  • Self-Paced Course Opens:  late-February
  • Live Zoom Sessions: 03/03/2026 and 03/17/2026, with an optional facilitation practice to be held on 03/24/2026; Times: 10 a.m.–12 p.m. PT

NOTE:  Although registration will remain open until 03/02/2026, participants who register after 02/15/2026 may not receive the hardcopy curriculum bundle until after the first session, in which case participants will have to rely on the digital curriculum for reference.

Total Training Time:  Approximately 7 hours total (four hours of live sessions and about three hours of self-paced work)

Materials:  One copy of the Instructor Guide and Workbook is included in the training cost.  Materials will be sent to participants once they purchase the training.

Next Steps:  Upon completion of this program, participants are certified to deliver the Food Smarts Adapted for Recovery curriculum.
