Fostering Nourished Families Facilitator Training

Description: This course is for facilitators wanting to learn how to implement the Fostering Nourished Families (FNF) curriculum. Participants will:
- learn how to facilitate Fostering Nourished Families lessons
- learn basic principles of trauma-informed feeding and nutrition practices for youth in foster care
- develop readiness and skills for engaging foster families around nutrition and wellbeing
- learn trauma-informed facilitation strategies for foster caregivers
Audience: Educators who are currently working with or have an interest in working with resource parents and other adults who support foster youth. [If an agency has multiple participants, each participant must register separately so that their registration email address can then be added to our online training system.]
Training Delivery and Dates: This program includes self-paced content (videos, reflection activities, and readings) and live, interactive, instructor-led sessions. Once registered, participants will receive several emails within the next 24-48 hours inviting them to our online training system (TalentLMS) and will need to complete approximately one and a half hours of self-paced work prior to the first live session on January 24, 2024. Participants will receive access to digital curriculum files and will be sent a printed copy of the Fostering Nourished Families Curriculum Bundle (includes a participant guidebook and instructor guide).
Key dates are as follows:
Registration Closes: January 23, 2024
Self-Paced Course Opens: mid-January
Live Zoom Sessions: 1/24, 2/7, 2/21; Times: 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. PST
Total Training Time: Approximately 11 hours total (six hours of live sessions and about five hours of self-paced work)
Next Steps: Upon completion of this program, participants are certified to deliver the Fostering Nourished Families curriculum and have ongoing access to digital copies of the curriculum.
