These easy-to-follow, evidence-based, 30-minute mindful movement lessons aim to break the sedentary cycle, wire the nervous system for movement, and support motivation for healthy habits. They are designed to be a dynamic and energizing complement to health promotion interventions for kids. Please note – completion of the facilitator training is required to implement this program and order materials.

About Body Connection
Body Connection offers easy-to-follow and accessible mindful movement for kids with a range of movement abilities. The curriculum is designed to:

  • Encourage appreciation for how our bodies work and move.
  • Promote body literacy and sensorimotor awareness.
  • Increase understanding of how to nourish the whole body with
    mindful movement, exercise, and healthy foods.

 

Lesson 1

Nervous System

  • Movements that help regulate the nervous system and improve sensory awareness
Lesson 2

Respiratory System

  • The  benefits of mindful breathing and practice breathing techniques that support calm and focus
Lesson 3

Digestive System

  • The gut-brain connection and movements that stimulate the digestive tract
Lesson 4

Cardiovascular System

  • The role of the cardiovascular system in energy and overall wellness, and movements that improve blood flow
Lesson 5

Immune System

  • Gentle movement, breathing, and self-massage to improve lymphatic flow and strengthen immune function
Lesson 6

Musculoskeletal System

  • Movements that enhance range of motion, flexibility, coordination, and balance
