Course Description:
This self-paced course encourages dietitians to explore how others perceive our nutrition messaging and introduces reframing as a practice to avoid bringing assumptions and bias to client interactions. We then present a simple approach to prioritize participant voices and create trauma-informed messaging. This course includes short videos and reflection activities.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will use reframing to avoid bringing assumptions and bias to client interactions.
- Participants will create nutrition messages that incorporate the trauma-informed principles, while acknowledging clients’ realities and leveraging client strengths to achieve realistic and sustainable behavior change.
Intended Audience and CPEUs: This course is intended for Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians, Registered. Completing the course will earn 2 CPEUs.
